The OED Community - A Network that Works
The concept of a network of like minded individuals that really works is natural and needed by the entrepreneurial community. Human nature leads to networks. The individual's self-interest causes people to want to band together to share knowledge and ideas and to mobilize talent and support. But the networks must be good. A good network leads to horizontal interaction and growth while a poor network creates siloing and a limiting view. By gathering all the information and resources business owners need to effectively run their businesses, OED provides a hub to connect entrepreneurs to the information they need as well as connecting them to their peers and other professionals on call.
The OED Community Structure
To ensure that the OED Community delivers on its promise: Citizenship in the Community is only open to individuals representing privately held (entrepreneurial) businesses. Citizens have an active voice in the direction and structure of the Community. OED's involvement in the community is that of facilitation by supplying the platform and the mechanics. OED establishes and enforces the OED Code of Business Practices.
The OED Network is Designed to be a Network that Works
The promise of the OED network is as follows: The OED Community broadens its citizens' reach by providing a path to safely and securely tap into their peers and other like minded professionals. The OED Community increases the value and reduces the cost of gathering information and assistance. The OED Community reduces the cost of collaboration. The OED Community collects knowledge and information and makes it available to all community citizens. The OED Community allows all of its citizens and their organizations to be more productive and fluid. The OED Community allows its citizens to validate ideas and remove bottlenecks. The OED Community is a pathway to the exchange of ideas, information and knowledge.
